Case study, Snooker TV

A streaming platform, built in a weekend

Jason had a clear vision and the rights to great content, but no technical team and no budget for a six-figure build. I mapped and assembled the whole platform myself, fast, using the right off-the-shelf parts in the right way.

What was needed

The content was valuable, but there was nowhere for people to pay

Jason Francis runs senior snooker and senior darts events, including Ronnie O'Sullivan exhibitions. He had the content and the audience. What he needed was a commercial platform that could host historic and live matches, take recurring payments, manage memberships, and block viewing by country to respect TV licensing.

The hard part was the constraint: build all of that without a development team or a large budget.

The real leak The audience was there. The paid platform wasn't.

Why it mattered

The platform itself became the proof

Without a platform, the content sat idle and the audience had nowhere to pay. A working, professional-looking platform did two jobs at once.

It created recurring revenue directly, and it proved demand, which strengthened Jason's position when negotiating bigger TV and sponsorship deals.

What I built

I assembled the right parts into one working commercial system

I started with research, not code. I studied the WWE Network as the north star and pulled playback and discovery patterns from YouTube and other sports platforms. Then I mapped a solution from parts that already existed, rather than building from scratch.

I got the first working version live over a weekend, taught myself the tricky parts as I went, and then refined it. Knowing when to build and when to assemble is the whole skill here.

The result

A real platform with paying subscribers

The platform reached 2,091 paying subscribers. It ran on a recurring subscription model with payments, memberships, video and geo-blocking all working together. It also gave Jason a stronger hand in TV and sponsorship negotiations by proving the market was real.

What this proves

You don't need a massive technical team to get a working platform live

You need someone who can see the whole system, pick the right parts, and ship.

That's the 30-Day Build in a nutshell. I build the complete operational setup, the page, the offer, the payment route, the follow-up, not just the screens. You end up with something that works and earns, handed over and ready.
